Lava Cap Selected a Top 100 Winery of the World!

We are excited to announce that Lava Cap was selected as one of the Top 100 Wineries of the World by Wine & Spirits Magazine! 

Wine & Spirits Magazine vetted thousands of producers in a two-step, blind-tasting process and selected 100 for their outstanding wines. The list includes wineries from across the globe, including a select handful of producers from California. The exceptional lineup of wineries will be published in Wine & Spirits Annual Buying Guide (Fall 2022). We will be celebrating this honor by pouring our 2017 Syrah, and 2019 Cabernet Franc at two Top 100 Wineries of the World Tastings, one in San Francisco and one in New York! 

Lava Cap is a third-generation, family owned and operated winery located in the El Dorado AVA, high in the Sierra Nevada Foothills at an elevation of 2,700 feet. Our estate vineyards are from some of the highest elevation vineyards in California. Our unique volcanic soils, weathered from ancient ash flows, produce wines with incredible vibrancy, richness, and depth.
