2019 Syrah
Tasting Notes
Our Syrah Vineyard grows on a beautiful south facing slope. The cooling breezes from our vineyards 2600' elevation, the ample sunlight, and the deep, well draining volcanic soils allows our Syrah to showcase both floral and savory aromas.
Dense and rich, but incredibly complex, the 2019 Estate Syrah showcases rich aromas of cassis, violets, and clove, framed by dark chocolate and olive tapenade. Very age worthy, but with refined tannins and a vibrant finish that make this wine approachable now.
Vineyard Notes
Rhone grapes have found an excellent home in El Dorado County, and Syrah is no exception. Our Estate Syrah grows on a South-West facing slope on relatively deep, loamy volcanic soil. Our Syrah has the best seat in the house at 2,700’, with commanding views stretching all the way to the Coast Range 100 miles away. Like the great Syrah vineyards of Côte-Rôtie, this location receives a tremendous amount of sunshine, from cool mornings through the warm afternoons.
Winemaker Notes
