2022 Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes
Lava Cap’s Cabernet Sauvignon has long been recognized for producing age-worthy wines that showcase vibrant fruit and rich texture. The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon holds true to this, with a dark purple color, and dark black fruit on the nose. On the palate, vibrant fruit mingles with allspice and clove, framed by vibrant acidity and well integrated tannins.
Vineyard Notes
The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 4 different high elevation vineyards, each with a distinct microclimate that blend harmoniously to produce this rich yet balance expression of Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes were harvested from Mid-September through Mid-October.
Winemaker Notes
After primary fermentation in stainless steel, the wine was racked to used 100% French oak barrels for ML. The wine was racked once after ML, and once for blending and bottling. 10% Cabernet Franc was blended for additional texture and complexity.

91pts, Wine & Spirits
91pts, Decanter-"Great herbal aromatics leap forward from this high mountain Cabernet sourced from four different sites in the Sierra Foothills—crushed stone minerality, green peppercorns, bay leaf frame cassis and blackberries with mint. The palate is well-structured and bright. Red and early season berry fruits are marked with fleshy bing cherry and candid raspberry notes. An excellent savoury kick of garrigue and a touch of dusty eucalyptus helps this wine towards the finish."-Clive Pursehouse
