Tasting Notes

Lava Cap’s Tempranillo showcases exceptional varietal character, with notes of bright red fruit, tobacco, and spice. On the finish, the wine shows fine tannins and hints of vanilla from extended barrel aging. A wine that will age gracefully for years to come, but immensely enjoyable now.

Vineyard Notes

A blend of two neighboring vineyards, and two vintages, 2022 and
2023, this Tempranillo was fermented in small open top bins, followed
by 24 & 16 months in barrel. By combining two vintages, we can take
advantage of the strengths of each. The blend showcases dark fruit, rich tannins, and tremendous depth.
